In some projects, a client gives us a rough idea of what they are looking for and eagerly awaits what we come up with. Other times, the logo design is a collaboration between the client and the brand designer, where Nordeau makes real an ephemeral vision in the client’s imagination. Neither way is superior; they are just different styles of projects.

What was superior was the collaboration between Colin Finkle and Jen Boddaert, a local artist here in Halton. Jen provided a sketch of what she had envisioned; a lotus flower on a lily pad radiating energy. Colin used that sketch for the basis of the icon.
Jen gave Colin an idea of the styles of fonts she wanted for both the brand name and the sub-headline. She looked over the library of fonts and chose six typefaces that felt right. Colin took one and redrew a custom script based so “Copper Lotus” could shine. Together, they chose the font for “Art Studio.”
Colin took those design decisions and built the logo design out into an icon, a stacked logo, a horizontal logo, and a watermark. All of these designs were packaged in a Google Slides presentation with links so other vendors could easily grab the high-resolution file they were looking for.

It was truly wonderful working with Colin at Nordeau. I am so very happy with my logo design! Colin was attentive, considerate and a very positive presence during our communications. We were able to collaborate well to come up with a truly wonderful design! His skills were a definite asset to me with the start-up of my business. I’m more confident to set up shop now!
